Day 01 (11.02.2013) Arrive Yangon
Arrive at Yangon International Airport. Sightseeing tour starts with the old colonial style city center's gilded Sule Pagoda, dating back over 2,000 years. We will visit the Botataung Pagoda located in the east of Yangon waterfront. Proceed to Chaukhtatgyi, a huge reclining Buddha image and a longer visit to Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the world’s most spectacular religious monuments. Its golden dome rises 98 meters above its base and is covered with 60 tons of pure gold. Watch sunset from Shwedagon Pagoda. Stay overnight at hotel in Yangon.

Day 02 (12.02.2013) Yangon – Bagan sightseeing (Domestic flight from Yangon)

After breakfast at hotel, transfer to airport for domestic flight to Bagan. On arrival, we proceed for sightseeing, starting with the busy Nyaung Oo local market and continuing with visits to a diverse selection of the most important Pagodas and temples. These include the Shwezigon Pagoda, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century and the Ananda Temple with four huge standing Buddha images and numerous seated figures in niches around the galleried interior. Then we view the Thatbyinnyu Pagoda constructed by King Alaung Sithu. Relax at the hotel and in the late afternoon, we visit lacquer workshop to learn about the fascinating technique of this art. After that we watch sunset at Buphaya. Stay overnight at hotel in Bagan. Meals – Breakfast

Day 03 (13.02.2013) Bagan – Mandalay - Amarapura sightseeing (Domestic flight)
After breakfast at hotel, transfer to airport for domestic flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival at Mandalay Airport, we proceed to Amarapura. Visit Mahagandayone Monastery where you may more than a thousand of monks having their 2nd or the last meal for the day. This monastery is reputed for its Buddha teachings. We continue to walk on the 200‐year‐old U BEIN teak bridge, built in 1782 when Amarapura was the royal capital. En route, we stop at a traditional hand‐weaving silk workshop.

Drive to Mandalay and check‐in at hotel. In the afternoon, we have a comprehensive sightseeing tour which includes the MAHAMUNI PAGODA with its spectacular Buddha image covered with thick layers of gold leaves, SHWE INBIN, one of the most outstanding monasteries in the country, SHWE NAN DAW KYAUNG or GOLDEN PALACE MONASTERY, a superb example of a traditional wooden building and KUTHODAW PAGODA, known as the world’s largest book, consisting of 729 marble slabs engraved with Buddhist scriptures. A visit to MANDALAY PALACE & visit the craftsmen’s workshop to see tapestries, wood carving & stone carvings being created. After that we proceed to Mandalay Hill to enjoy sunset and see the panoramic view of Mandalay City. Stay overnight at Mandalay. Meals –Breakfast

Day 04 (14.02.2013) Mandalay – Mingun – Sagaing sightseeing
After breakfast at hotel , we proceed to take a boat trip across the Irrawaddy River to Mingun which is a small village famous for its world’s biggest ringing bell - Mingun Bell at 90 tons inside the Great Mingun Temple. This temple would be the world’s tallest temple if it was completed. The unfinished structure was badly damaged as the numerous cracks were created by the earthquake of 1838. We proceed to Sagaing Hill which is famous for its over 400 monasteries & nunneries. Scattered among them are European-style stucco buildings. Sagaing Hill is noted as a religious retreat centre. The Irrawaddy River encircles the town in a loop. Back to Mandalay and night stop . Meal – Breakfast

Day 05 (15.02.2013) Mandalay – Heho – Inle ( Domestic flight)
After breakfast, transfer to Mandalay airport for domestic flight to Heho. From Heho, we drive to Nyaung Shwe which is the gate-way to Inle lake. Boat tour on Inle Lake which is one of Myanmar's best known tourism spots. The boat passes several villages built on stilts over the lake. These water houses are mostly inhabited by the Intha people. These people are known for their famous leg-rowing fishermen and can be seen on the lake throughout the day catching fishes for sale to support their families.

The tour also includes a visit to Indein Village, Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, Nga Hpa Chaung, the weaving village of Inpawkhon and a cheroot factory where the typical Burmese Cigars are made by hand. These are the famous sights in Inlay Lake. Stay overnight in a hotel in Inle Lake . Meals – Breakfast

Day 06 (16.02.2013) Inle – Heho – Yangon (Domestic flight)
After breakfast , transfer to Heho airport for domestic flight to Yangon.

On arrival, we visit Bogyoke (Scotts) Market (closed on every Monday and Gazette Holiday). Shop from the hundreds of stores which include gems shops, artwork, souvenirs. In the evening, we proceed to visit China Town to appreciate the night life of the local people. Stay overnight at hotel in Yangon. Meals –Breakfast

Day 07 (17 .12.2012) Yangon Departure
After breakfast , own leisure time until transfer to Yangon International Airport for departure flight to Singapore. Meals - Breakfast

Packaged tours similar to those going to Europe and China are NOT available presently and are usually NOT satisfactory as they require the mandatory visits to jewellery shops and factories wasting precious sight-seeing time and poorer quality hotel accommodation since prospects pay a much lower price. There are NO "cheap and good" packaged tours in real life.

3. Design Travel Pte Ltd does not accept deposits as Myanmar tourism is booming and hotels do not reserve rooms without immediate down payment. Prospective travellers are advised to book 1-2 months early.

Payment will be in full and non-refundable. Visas to Myanmar are charged at $55/pax if we process for you. It takes around 5 working days to get the visa.

Inle Lake

A Myanmar tour guide provides customised tours to the young couple. A few German and French nationals visited Bagan in October 2008 when I was there. Tourism was in decline then. In 2013, with several hundred thousands of international tourists pouring into Myanmar, prices of hotels and costs of domestic flights have increased considerably.		Lakeside villas in Inle Lake are much appreciated by tourists from cities like Singapore. Rentals have shot up due to a boom in tourism
